Josef 'Pepi' Bican was born on September 25, 1913 in Vienna, where he also began his football career. He transferred to Prague's Slavia in 1937 and played for the red and whites from 1937-1948 and 1953-1955. Bican became the league's top scorer 12 times, scoring 821 goals, and even netted a hat-trick 50 times in his lifetime, all in a single match.
